Katie (@glsant, they/them) has worn many different hats over the years. They have been a software developer across many languages, a systems administrator for multiple operating systems, and a speaker on various topics. They have spent several years as a Developer Relations Engineer for one of the largest tech companies in the world, helping developers learn and grow. When they're not changing the world, they enjoy rambling, fiber arts, and irrevocably changing the Unicode Standard.
Elevating the AI-Assisted Developer Experience
The rapid adoption of AI-assisted coding tools has fundamentally changed how developers approach complex engineering tasks. As the industry shifts toward agentic workflows, the gap regarding how these tools impact overall developer productivity and code quality has widened. This talk explores how developers can leverage industry-wide changes and improve their own skills and knowledge. Attendees will leave with a clear plan to protect trust while embracing new workflows, ensuring that the software they build remains high-quality and reliable, regardless of the level of automation.
